Been running a Lemken Solitair this spring, 6 meter model, combo setup with a compact disc harrow. First, kinda impressed with the seed rate adjustment and those sectioned seed metering rollers. Makes switching crops real quick, don't have to fight with the settings for ages, just calibrate and you're good. The parallelogram mounts on the coulters with the pressure springs do make for steady depth, felt a clear improvement over older models. Only hassle, I wish connecting all the hoses and electrics was faster, but I’m used to that by now. As for the computer, I like that Solitronic shows seed rate and drive speed constantly, though I could do without extra beeping. Hauled it on the road, folded up no problem, 3 meters transport width is handy, but takes up a decent bit of space in the shed. Price-wise, not cheap, but you get the features.

Been running the Lemken Compact-Solitair 9/400 HD for a few seasons here, mostly on soybeans, barley, and wheat. Really dig that you can do four jobs in one pass, saves a bunch of time, and fuel too, we're hitting like 5 liters/ha which is nothing. Row spacing is alright, the precision's pretty solid, saw some improvement in uniformity on emergence, especially compared to the old SZ. Noticed that the section shutoff works pretty well, the blocked seed doesn't just dump out, goes back up into the hopper, which keeps the rate the same. Control from the LTV-50 monitor is easy, nothing fancy to figure out once you get used to it, though sometimes the wheel sensor gets muddy and skews the area counter a bit. Wish the outermost disc didn't kick so much soil onto finished rows, that's my main gripe. Maintenance is pretty simple, most stuff is sealed and only a few grease points. No breakdowns so far. Overall, not bad, does what it's supposed to.

I've run a bunch of seeders but the Solitair is the first with proper electronics. Service is solid, they show up pretty quick whenever you need them, which is handy since stuff sometimes just doesn’t click the first try. I had them set everything up and they ran with me in the field to show stuff. Not a fan of needing to call for everything but I guess that's what you get with more tech. Seeder itself puts seed down exactly where you want, even fine on direct seeding. Adjustment for depth and packers is alright, but would be nice to be a bit faster swapping between jobs. It’s not dirt cheap but at least you don’t get stuck with breakdowns all the time.

Been running one for a full spring now. Main field is all soybeans. Out of the gate, it was simple enough to hook up to our Fendt. I really like the tire packer up front, never thought it’d make such a difference but the field is flatter and the stand is just better. Controls are all right, but honestly the monitor menu is too deep. I sometimes miss stuff or have to double-check. Didn’t try the fertilizer system yet, we just spread ahead of time. Rows come up even, and you barely ever get those dead strips. Dealer checked in a few times this season, which was cool. For what we need (fast, even, not breaking down), it nailed it but costs a lot to get one new.

Been running the Lemken Solitair 9/400 HD 167 this season. What I notice straight away is how much faster things go because it preps the soil, drops the seed and firm it all in one go. Major time saver, really. I set it up at the start of the season, and honestly, haven't had to touch the calibration since. I just dump in the seed and go - even non-experts can handle it without fuss. If you want perfect openers or loads of gadgets, it's a bit simpler, but I prefer that. No electronic dramas. If something breaks, it's usually my own fault, like running over something in the field. Only thing I wish was different is the size - wider would be better for my acreage, but can't complain much. Comfort in transit is nice. Price is about even with others after you figure you don't need as many other machines.

Used mine for both conventional and min-till stuff, and can't really complain much. That double disc coulter keeps the seed down at a really even depth, even when you push it on speed, which is something I care about. Hydraulic depth settings are actually handy, saves crawling under the machine. Did notice the distributor heads tend to get a bit of build up in wet soils, so something to watch. Machine’s not light either and can be a bit awkward pulling in the yard, not a huge deal. Rate it pretty well overall for reliability and ease of operation, cost is up there though if you throw on all the extras.

Been running this drill for about 1,800 acres now, switching between wheat and hay without too many headaches. Changing out the metering wheels for different seed types actually goes quick once you get the hang of it. Depth adjustment is super clear, just some pins and numbers, so that's easy. Bit annoying on the hose sourcing, though. Had to wait on parts from Germany which isn't ideal in the busy season. Also, some of the smaller stuff, like remembering to close every single flap or making sure the scrapers aren't worn to nubs-easy to forget if you’re moving fast. Nothing major but definitely stuff to look out for. Plants pretty even, meters well if you double-check your calibration.

We demo’d the LEMKEN Compact-Solitair 9/400 HD 167 first (good call tbh), then bought. On our soils it handled sowing straight into sunflower residue better than I expected. Fewer passes helped keep moisture, and you can tell that’s what this rig is built for.

Fuel use was reasonable when we weren’t trying to go too deep with everything. And the machine just kept going. No breakdowns for us either, unless someone does something dumb and clips a rock at speed.

Operation is pretty forgiving. Parallel guidance + the drill = I’m not jumping out of the cab every hour to mess with it. That said, I’m still not in love with relying on dealer support for the first setup. If your dealer is weak, you’ll feel it.

Also the row spacing trick is useful: 167 mm for cereals, and you can block every other opener to get 33 cm for soy/rape. Simple idea, works.

I’ve been putting the Lemken Solitair through its paces this season. Gotta say, the seed placement accuracy stands out, seeds sit neat, depth’s consistent, even at decent speeds. Set-up was not hard, but you gotta fiddle a bit to get everything spot on your first time out. The seed hopper’s huge, so less time wasted filling up. Haven’t had any big issues with breakdowns yet, though the metering system looks a bit overcomplicated compared to what I’m used to. Controls from the cab were decent, no lag. For the price, I’d say you’re getting solid kit, but it’s not cheap either.

Ran the Lemken Solitair ST in a few different soil conditions this spring. Swapping between the rollers and the levelling tines is actually pretty straightforward and I got decent results with seed placement every time. The double disc coulters keep depth on point even when I sped up, which saves me time. Big fan of how the seed depth adjustment doesn't mess with coulter pressure, but I do wish there were more clear markings on the controls cause first time setup's a bit of a faff. The large hopper is a bonus, fewer fills, but it's heavy when topped up. Overall, less downtime, more acres done.
